An ambassador is someone who commits to try and bring a national or international conference, meeting, incentive visit or sporting event to the Shannon Region.
The Shannon Region Conference Ambassador Programme is an initiative that provides a range of practical supports including relevant impartial assistance and financial support to individuals who want to organise a national or international conference, meeting, incentive visit or sporting event in the Shannon Region.
The Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau offer impartial guidance and support at every stage of the event, from the initial bid to marketing and promotion. We will assist with the preparation of the bid document; related costs for travel and accommodation associated with the bid/presentation. We are not event organisers but are happy to recommend one that best matches your needs.

The Shannon Region is serviced by Shannon Airport, with Cork Airport just over an hour away and Dublin Airport 2 hours. With a major rail link and a motorway network connecting to Dublin, we are the perfect location from which to explore Ireland.
Shannon Airport
The Shannon area is easily reached by air. Shannon Airport is at the heart of the region and with 200 inbound flights per week, is the easiest way to reach it. There are scheduled flights, on a year round basis to and from major cities in Britain, Europe and North America. Irish Ferry Ports
The Shannon Region is approximately three hours drive time from Dublin, Dun Laoghaire and Rosslare ferry ports. Fast ferry crossings are available from various UK ports. Road and Rail
The Shannon area also has main line rail connections with Dublin and Cork and can be reached from any railway station in Ireland. The main rail stations in the region being Limerick and Ennis.
