The business of education is not the only draw at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick with its facilities much in demand as a leading conference and events venue in the mid-west region. At MIC, the variety of rental options mirrors the diverse range of educational programmes here and the College offers the key factors when it comes to selecting a setting for events—versatility, location and service.
MIC has a fascinating history combined with contemporary amenities—a mix of past and present that makes it truly unique. There are over 50 meeting rooms and one of a kind spaces here, from period rooms and state of the art lecture theatres to the award-winning Tailteann sports complex and the Lime Tree Theatre- a 510-seat professional facility. The flexibility of spaces to be transformed into anything from convention and exhibition areas to break-out rooms means that the College can cater for conferences, meetings, corporate launches, lectures, classes and much more.
MIC was founded in 1898 and its original Foundation Building, with its period fixtures and fittings, is still in use. The College has been added to over the years but has expanded rapidly over the past decade or so; Tailteann was added in 2007, swiftly followed by the 4,400 square metre TARA Building in 2010. TARA’s number and variety of rooms is exceptional, accommodating from 12 to 300; many organisations use one or more of TARA’s four tiered lecture halls (100-300 capacity). Whether used separately or in combination, these facilities are ideal for large-scale events.
MIC’s leafy 25 acre campus, which has 190 parking spaces, is easily accessible from the M7 motorway and is a short walk from Limerick City centre. The College is a 25 minute drive from Shannon Airport, within easy access to the motorway but close to the main city rail & bus station. The many tourism attractions and hospitality outlets of Limerick City are at delegates’ disposal.
The 350 seat restaurant and in-house catering service makes for a large refreshment menu. Planners consistently praise the integrated ICT/AV systems as very user-friendly and our dedicated Conference & Events team is on hand to coordinate all specified needs. There are three, four and five star hotels close to MIC and there is the option of staying in the on-site Halls of Residence or in adjacent student accommodation (outside of term time).
For a one-of-a-kind venue, Mary Immaculate College, Limerick in an ideal choice.
