The distinctive building conceals within its walls an eighteenth century mansion, a late medieval castle, and a formidable history of four and a half centuries. It was once the home of Caitlin MacNamara, who married the Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas. They spent some time in Ennistymon during their marriage and the main bar is named in his honour. The walls are adorned with photos of the family and the other interesting characters who once resided in ‘Ennistymon House’.
The hotel is privately owned and managed by the McCarthy Family and you will always receive a warm and friendly welcome.
